Re format my moms comp

I have to re format my moms computer tomorrow. I was downloading service pack 3 and it stops downloading when it says finishing the update but it just stays there and does nothing. It also syas error when it cant find a particular item. So im just going to reformat the whole thing and hopefully it will fix it.

if you remember... i also had problems with updating to sp3
...
well.. since i totally got a new pc build together... i didnt matter so much...
but somewhere on the internet... my bf downloaded Windows XP with SP3 already there... and it worked out... ö.ö
